Our Speakers:

Steve Halasz serves as the Director of Research at Travel Portland in Portland, OR. Prior to founding the Research Department at Travel Portland, Steve was the Director of Consumer Research at Brand USA (the Destination Marketing Organization of the USA). He has conducted Market Research for more than 10 years and started his research career as a consultant in the manufacturing and industrials sector. As a consultant, he worked with many leading, global brands, such as John Deere, Ingersoll Rand, US Gypsum, Altec, and Rheem Manufacturing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Wake Forest University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The College of William & Mary.

 

Sonja Harvey is a Sr. Manager of Air Service Development at the Port of Portland; a consolidated port which operates three airports including Portland International Airport (PDX), marine terminals and business parks.

As part of the Air Service Development team at PDX, Sonja’s focus is on retaining and growing international and domestic air service and working closely with a broad network of community and industry stakeholders to build support for our non-stop flights.

Prior to joining the Port of Portland, Sonja spent over 20 years working for Lufthansa and Air Canada in various operational and sales roles. 

Sonja holds a degree in Economics from California State University, Long Beach. She and her family live in Portland, where they enjoy the rain and the occasional escape to a sunny destination on a non-stop flight.
