While different crucible events broadened the concept of duty of care since it entered mainstream management over a decade ago, Covid-19 not only disrupted global mobility but also brought new challenges for employers in mitigating the health, safety and security risks of their workforce.

Please join OBTA and Lisbeth Claus as we explore the ‘Covid effect’ on business travel, link it to employer duty of care, extrapolate different future global mobility scenarios for business travel management, and explore how the business travel industry can contribute to the duty of care value chain.

Lisbeth Claus, Ph.D., SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP, Professor of Management and Global HR, Willamette University MBA

Lisbeth published more than 100 international HR articles in academic and professional journals and is co-author of a number of books: Be(come) and AWESOME Manager: The Essential Toolkit for Impact Leadership (with Scott Baker & Peter Vermeulen, 2020); #ZigZagHR: When the Best HR is no Longer HR (with Lesley Arens), 2018 (Dutch); 2019 (English); International Human Resource Management, 3rd edition (with Dennis Briscoe & Randall Schuler), 2008; and Editor-in-Chief of the four-volume Global HR Practitioner Handbook, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018. She is the author of a number of thought leadership White Papers: the 2009 International SOS Duty of Care White Paper (viewed today as a major impetus for putting duty of care on the map for global organizations); the 2012 Duty of Care and Travel Risk Management Global Benchmarking Study (the first empirical study on duty of care for which she earned the EMMA research of the year award); and the 2019 Dynamic Open Talent (with Danielle Monaghan).
